Day wise travel itinerary
Arrive in Bhuj and check in to your hotel. Begin your journey with a visit to Prag Mahal and Aaina Mahal, showcasing the regal grandeur of Kutch’s rulers. Pay homage at the Vande Mataram Memorial, stroll by Harmirsar Lake, and explore the Smritivan Earthquake Museum that tells stories of resilience. Delve into Kutch’s cultural soul at the Bharatiya Sanskriti Darshan Museum, wander among the cenotaphs at Chhatardi, and, time permitting, shop for local treasures at Bhuj Haat Market. Overnight in Bhuj.
Set out for Dhordo, the gateway to the Great Rann of Kutch. Experience the magic of the Rann Utsav — camel rides, folk dances, soulful music, local crafts, and sumptuous Kutch cuisine. As the day ends, watch the surreal sunset over the salt desert, when the landscape turns shades of gold and pink. Return to Bhuj for overnight stay.
Drive to the coastal town of Mandvi, visiting the ornate Jinalay Jain Temple, the grand Vijay Vilas Palace (once a royal summer retreat), and Kranti Teerth, dedicated to India’s freedom struggle. End the day with a walk on the sandy shores of Mandvi Beach, where fishing boats dot the horizon. Return to Bhuj for overnight stay.
Journey to the far west of Kutch. Visit Mata Na Madh, a revered temple dedicated to Ashapura Mata, followed by the sacred Narayan Sarovar and the windswept Koteshwar Temple overlooking the Arabian Sea. Explore the walled ghost town of Lakhpat, with its centuries-old fortifications and serene Gurudwara. Return to Bhuj for overnight stay.
Travel to Dholavira, one of the largest Harappan archaeological sites in India. Walk through ancient streets, reservoirs, and ruins that date back over 4,000 years. Visit the local museum, then head to Kalo Dungar for panoramic views, see the artisan village of Gandhi Nu Gam, feel the mystery at Magnetic Hill, and, if time permits, cross to India Bridge, the last civilian point before the Pakistan border. Overnight in Dholavira.
After breakfast, bid farewell to the white deserts, royal palaces, and vibrant culture of Kutch as you proceed to Bhuj Airport/Railway Station for your onward journey.
